Habanos in Japan

Recommended Posts

This past weekend I visited a "La Casa Del Habanos" in Shibuya Tokyo Japan.

I was greeted by a very nice young man who escorted me into the humidor.

The selection was small but very impressive. They had the Cohiba 1966's, BHK 52/56 and a few Cohibas from 1996 (possibly a bad year?)

But, the catch was the price! They wanted 5,000 JPY Yen for just one BHK 52!

I decided to grab a few Trinidad Reyes and a Cohiba Lancero, that I have always wanted to try!

Kicked myself for not writing down box dates, but I was in a hurry.

$88 dollars for a 1966 in Edmonton and I believe a grand reserve sig 6 was $100

I actually paid $ 80 somthing for a BHK 54 when they first where available in Canada and didn't know that you didn't have to be referred by someone to make a order at club czar .

Steep prices, yes. But don´t blame the Casa in Roppongi. All tobacco prices is regulated by the government i Japan. Retailers are not allowed to exceed or undercut prices. They are fixed. You will never find a cigar on sale in Japan, simply because it is not allowed.
