rhodges Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Finally had a night this week where i could light up, so i dug around in the wine cooler for a bit and settled on a Siglo II. Gave it the sniff test...ahhh heaven. Cut it then took a draw, and it was very loose but decided to go ahead with it. It was not a pleasant experience, burnt hot and fast but endured through till the end. I was left so underwhelmed and unsatisfied that i went back in and rummaged around some more until i decided on an Upmann mag 48. I could barely keep the damn thing lit and the burn was all wonky. It seemed as if the wrapper was a little thick as most of the darker wrappers do, but who knows. Hope your smokes perform better for you tonight than mine did.
CaptainQuintero Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Yeah I've a had a few misbehaving smokes recently, thinking it may be the very low humidity/wind at this time of the year as everything has been 65%rh for over 7 months now. Hoping a 1966 will buck the trend!
dicko Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I hate nights like this!! Hope your next cigar night fares better mate
benjaminbbush Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Yeah, nights like that are the pits. They are usually stacked on a crappy week and stress at home. You just want the cigar so you can unwind but then the cigar adds to the stress. Best thing, try again today/tonight as you might have a GREAT experience that follows a bad one.
rhodges Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 Update I'm smoking some ribs as we speak and just lit a siglo III HQ from czar and it is performing beautifully. Thanks pres!
Scdalak Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Happens to the best of us..... I do my best to curb any enthusiasum before lighting up. Saves me the pain of disapointment if it sux, yet still doesnt take away from joy of a stellar smoke.
