Sutton Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Well just picked up a iPad after Christmas and was wondering what apps people have downloaded. And what else do you use your iPad for besides porn ? The cigar kind not the other one. The only few apps I have are a bell tv app a calculator and the wife put angry birds on. Please don't start about the angry birds. So let's hear it what's apps and games do you use?
Neuralpath Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Most often used apps: GoodReader (PDF reader/annotator) ReaddleDocs (ditto) Dropbox Pages & Numbers Kindle Netflix HBO Go Sling Player PBS Wall Street Journal New York Times BBC News TuneIn Radio Pinball HD
TWalker Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 My wife just ordered the ipad2 yesterday so this is a timely thread for sure. I'm hoping for some good recipe/cooking apps, news, movies, games, etc. I have no idea about the thing, but I do know it will travel much easier than the laptop and that's one of the main reasons we bought it.
Cohiba Stevie Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I have both an ipad 1 & 2, i also use an iphone and a macbook air, i use apple products for their capability not because they have become a fashion accessory as of late. I also am a team manager for vodafone uk, so i sell dozens of ipads every day and know my fair share about them. An ipad is only what you make it, so downloading the proper apps can really make it a fantastic device, habanos sa has an app that runs through latest product news and has great info the cigar production process including videos, it also has a cigar inventory so you can log the cigars in your humidor. There is also an asian company with an app simply titled "cuban cigars" which details nearly every regular production stick for every marca, there is also a nice ring gauge app where you can literally press the foot of your cigar against the screen to check the ring gauge, it has been correct every time for me. There is also a myriad of cigar review apps. Keep an open mind, push the device and its software to the limit, it will blow you away how much its actually capable of.

TexAg Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Netflix is a must have. I don't have an iPad, but I do love my iPhone. A fun (and free) game is Paper Toss. Also Words With Friends is fun, if you find a friend to play with.

orangedog Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 if you work in finance, PIMCO's app is pretty good. sometimes the articles are of the "sky is blue" variety, but might have a gem hidden in there, or force you to think about something you already know but wouldn't have at the tip of your tongue. a lot of magazines have apps now too, which is handy... men's health, outside, bicycling, golf digest, etc. if you have kids, things like touchy books and twinkle twinkle little star are handy skype is great
