Ken Gargett Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 understand some of what you are saying tho i would not include 'the rising' in that. i guess when your band starts falling off the perch and you've about $100 mill in the bank, hard to have that youthful edge. but yes, never miss a chance to see him. that solo tour tho, was the least exciting for me. the first one way back - march 31, 85, i think from memory - was sensational. last one, the day he opned the tour in melbourne was the day the states launched the invasion. a bit of anger that day. kicked off with 'war'. missed the one in sydney but gather it had massive sound problems. in brizzy on the first night (for some reason, brizzy the only place he played twice, i think), he played jungleland for the first time in ages. i could not make the second evening butgather he swapped it for 'my hometown'. thankfully i saw the first one. would have been pissed the other way around. still some great stuff.
