mattdivo Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Can the BHK box be used as a travel humidor (for up to 2 wks)? Tx, M.
Guest rob Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I think itd work quite fine if you could also put a small tube of beads in there. If your not going to put any humidifivation in there I'd err on the side of buying a small Tupperware container instead.
hdryder Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I take mine to work as a travel/desk top humidor with a Boveda pack it it and it works fine.
Colt45 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I don't see why not - imagine how they've been stored in all their travels before they got to you. My personal opinion on adding humidification depends on where you're going. Somewhere cool and dry, I agree with a bead tube or similar with minimal water added. Somewhere warm and humid - kind of tropical - no humidifier, or same beads with no water. Again, just my personal opinion based on personal experience.
Colt45 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Most probably in a humidor... One would hope, but there's also planes, trains, and automobiles.... Again, for me personally, two weeks in a cedar lined box with the right amount of (de)humidification is not something I'd be concerned with, and I actually prefer something like this to plastic foam lined travel boxes when it comes to cigar storage while away.
mk05 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I keep mine in my lovehandles. Gives a nice salty retrohale.
Squarehead Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I bought last year a travel humidor which is all cedarlined on the inside. It holds about 14 cigars plus a humidity device. The cost $49.99 in Can.$.Oh, and the outside is leather.
