goalie204 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I'm going to be in Asia sometime around March or so and will probably be in Shaoxing and SHanghai China as well as maybe some places in indonesia - what kind of pricing can i expect at the LCDH in Shanghai? I've seen the "duty free" pricing at the airport, and it hasnt been great, and they didnt have any china REs, but im thinking the LCDHs might have more selection - what can i expect to find? Thanks in Advance, Myles
CaptainQuintero Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 In general it seems that duty free stock is not as well looked after as B&M stock, I can't comment on pricing but I've read numerous posts on people being dissapointed with purchases from duty free and them wishing they had bought at the LCDH instead.

HydroRaven Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 It is still a bloody great place to visit if you don't mind pollution and smog!LOL! I love Shanghai and Beijing. Fixed it for you, prez! But in all honesty, they are interesting cities. GODZILLLLAAAAAAA!!!!! You're confusing China with Japan there, bud.

hebbe72 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Don´t bother with the Westin. Been there, done that. Just standard line of cigars. No RE to be found.

Edwhatever Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Shanghai airport duty free has some of the cheapest cigars I've seen. A 5 stick of Cohiba lancero would be $7xx RMB, you can't beat that really.
hebbe72 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Any place with RE in Shanghai ? Not to my knowledge. The supply in general is poor in China. Nowadays I always bring my own to be sure to be able to smoke what I want. I am very careful bying cigars both in the country and on tax free since China in general has the biggest fake industry in the world (not specifically cigars, but in general terms speaking).
Fuzz AI Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Fixed it for you, prez! There's no pollution in Shanghai or Beijing! The PRC politburo would be very interested in hearing where you heard such slanderess things!
kyee Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I travel to Shanghai a few times every year, and this past December I stayed at the Westin Bund Center. They do have an LCDH in the hotel, but it was closed everytime I went there. Thru the window, the selection looked pretty bad. The looked run down and not well looked after. I always bring my own cigars when traveling to Shanghai - prices there are high, and you really have to know where you're purchasing from in order to not get duped. There are a lot of places to smoke in Shanghai. Just do a search on the topic and you've find a few threads here.
goalie204 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 i usually smoke at the cigar lounge in the crown royal there, but was looking for info on buying, but np
phoenix Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 It is still a bloody great place to visit !LOL! I love Shanghai and Beijing. What do you like to do in Beijing??? Any fav bars or restaurants? Where else besides the LCDH in the Westin 'Financial' is "legit"?
