The event calendar at the world famous Lake Louise ski hill says they will be having Australia Day Celebration on January 26...:buddies:

Can anybody say "there goes the neighborhood?" :lookaround:

Is lake louise your local hill? It looked quite nice watching the mens downhill recently, and has been added to the list of places I'd really like to ski.

It's where I go on first impulse, and is a reasonable hour and 40 minutes from home. The terrain is great and the vistas are unparalled. Better still, make a roadtrip out of your visit and try some of the resorts in British Columbia where the snow pack is amazing.

If you do make a trip out to the Alberta Rockies i would recommend late February to mid-March. Although this year has been an exception, January temperature are generally cold (-12 to -15C on average).

Now I'm jealous of your lifestyle.

I may be able to blow money in posh London hotels, but I certainly can't go skiing in beautiful scenery quite so easily!

Life is like that isn't it :D

Maz, if you keep entertaining us with London exploits then I'll post mountain pics.

Nearly that time of year again, not sure what I am going to do. Our office block in the city overlooks the Swan River fireworks :buddies: but there is no female staff to be seen :daydream:

Thanks for the advice mate. I've been lucky enough to ski sun peaks before, and loved every minute of it. I'm currently discussing the possibility of a canadian ski tour with a couple of mates next season.

Sun Peaks has been an annual ski weekend /get-together with friends for me these last 4 years. Going again in March. I let my skis go fast on the wide open groomers until my nerves give out. What a rush.

If your trip comes together let me know where and when. Who knows? Might be able to do a few runs together. I'll bring cigars for the apres-ski.
