The background to this cigar is that on a business trip a few years ago to Japan, I was desperate to have a cigar and was Miles away from a real tobacco store so I picked up a couple of these sticks at a convenience store...

What sold me on them was the claim of "Interior 100% Cuba Tobacco" written right on the real(!) aluminum tube - Thank heavens! I am convinced that the tubo cost more than the stick inside of it. I mean, it was painted all the way around and all!

Smoking time: Decidedly too long!

Box code: You're kidding, right?

Construction: Yes

Seriously - construction: This needs to be split into filler and wrapper (both defined loosely)

OK, for real now - construction filler: What is the grade below short filler again? I think it's "dust". I was spitting tobacco dust after every painful puff.

Construction wrapper: Biggest veins I have ever seen on a tobacco leaf. My guess is that the claim of "Interior 100% Cuban Tobacco" did not extend to the wrapper. Cuban? - possibly, Tobacco? - not bloody likely. I'm going to say 100% Cuban Geranium wrapper.

Flavor: Tobacco-ish. I couldn't really tell between all the spitting of tobacco dust.

Burn: Very even. Burned about as well (and fast) as a nice, long, match

Final score: 50/100 - it burned. It did make me a bit nauseous, so I deducted 10 points from my essential minimum of 60 for that

Conclusion: Don't smoke what you find at the bottom of your long-forgotten singles box - it probably ended up there for a reason!

Some pictures for your enjoyment (hey, at least SOMEONE should have enjoyment out of this...)

Had one of these once and was really disappointed. I sometimes smoke the Villiger Exports because they are really affordable, even burn, tasty and generally a unpretentious cigar delivering the basics well. The Villiger premium tubo was the opposite...
