kiwicrusaders Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Can anyone provide me an opinion of this cigar? How it compares to the Regios it's bigger brother (possibly my favorite cigar) as well as other petit coronas, which I'm yet to try as well. Appreciate your advice / opinion.
winelover Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I went through a box of 04s about five years back. From what I remember was that they really benefited from a year's ageing and they were a medium to full bodied smoke with a mix of classic old school Havana but with honey notes. I really enjoyed them in fact. I prefer them over the Regio as I find the latter like smoking a candy stick (don't want swisher sweets minus the weed in a Havana!)
stogieokie Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I smoke a lot of PC's and I love the SLR's. I haven't had a Regios lately so it's difficult for me to compare them. My favorite PC's in order are: 1. PLPC 2. Tie - SLRPC, Dip4 3. Monte 4 4. HU Coronas Major It's interesting as M4's were once my favorite smoke, but lately they either don't seem to be what they once were or my palate has changed. I'm an Upmann ho, but don't care for their PC. There are several others in the line that I would love to try--Regalias, Amatistas, Cristales (hey, a man's gotta dream!), Exquisitos, Medias Coronas, Singulares, but many of these are discontinued so finding them would be difficult, if not almost impossible. I recently picked up some HU Aromaticos as well as some JLPC, but haven't had a chance to try them yet.
Fitz Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 There is something about SLRs, hard to beat in terms of value. I havent tried this vitola yet but it is on my 'must try' list along with the Regios. I also wouldn't mind giving the Lonsdale a try. I have tried the Churchill and a DC in the past, both were very nice. However my favoutite in the brand is definately the Serie A, one of my fave cigars ever, totally sublime when they are on form. If you haven't sampled them I would recommend also giving them a go.
CaptainQuintero Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Honestly without a funny sparkle in my eye, quintero panatelas are excellent, just plain good old fashioned cuban tobacco.
