Diamondog Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Cigars: 5 vitolas / 100 cigars Cigar Bands: Special "5 Aniversario" band Manufactured: Hand Made cigars Presentation: Special Crafted Numbered Humidor Amount: 500 Humidors made Cigar Release: 2003 (late release) First off, props go out to the Czar team and the man at the top El Prez for making this rare release available to your faithful following! Vegas Robaina 5th Anniversary Unicos - Piramides Appearance: Beautiful light chocolate wrapper with a tinge of red to it. Gorgeous offsetting darker chocolate and gold band. One of the finest bands I've seen on a cigar in the way it accents the wrapper. Construction: Flawless construction, no soft spots, firm and well packed, minimal veins. Pre Light: Nice sweet aroma to the tobbacco and the wrapper with a hint of cinnamon. Pre light draw is perfect, just the right amount of resistance. I can really taste the cinnamon and spice on the pre light draw. First Third: Cigar opens with a blast of spice and a nice zing of what I would call a citrus, full bodied from the start. Large volumes of smoke and thick on the palette, burn is razor sharp. Very light sweet undertones on the finish. As the first third progresses a nice mellow nutiness forms after the spice/citrus fades and finishes sweet. Towards the end of the first third the spice/citrus mellows and gives way to nice earthy and nutty undertones with a sweetness on the finish. Second Third: Continues with a nice mellowed spice/citrus and stays in an earthy/nutty undertone profile continuing to finish sweet. Towards the end of the second third the spice and citrus become more bold. Third Third: Spice/citrus mellows again and the cigar is moving in to a really nice chocolatey, nutty profile with earthy undertones on the finish. Spice really picks up in the final end of the smoke and finishes in a chocolate, nutty earthy profile. Final Thoughts: This is an absolutely stunning example of a finely aged Cuban and how good that so few become. I can easily say this is one of the finest cigars I have ever smoked and ranks up there with the real heavey weights. For those of you who got some you are in for a real treat with these babies, for those of you who have had one you know what I'm talking about. Again special thanks to the Czar team for making these not only available, great price but also for raffling off the humidor, now that is customer service at its finest! FINAL SCORE: 97
