Ken Gargett Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 very much saddened to hear of the passing of that great qlder and australian, artie beetson. one of the all time great footy players. i remember the roar when he led queensland out at lang park for the first origin and when he came from a mile away to belt his club teammate, mick cronin, which very much epitomised the feeling for origin. you could feel the vibrations in the stands. always a character. remember how he have a chat at the pub when serving beers. huge man in every way. will be greatly missed.
khomeinist Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Let me throw a RIP for Gary Speed as well. That news gutted me.
El Presidente Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Beetson was never a shrinking violet on the field or off. RIP
markmurase Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Yes, we lost a great Quenslander today. I'll never forget that first Origin match. RIP Big Artie
