Enjoyed a rare gift cigar from my bro in law today. A SLR Double Corona. To start, it was tame yet complicated. Meaning a mild smoke with complex flavors. Lots of floral type flavors. Half way in, turned medium and flavors almost turned sweet, but very nice. Not a sick sweet. Finished strong. Makes me want to buy the spare 50 cab he has. Finished the night with a RASCC after coffee and dessert, so the strong cigar balanced out the sweets.

Mmmm! Thanks for sharing. Makes me think of the last Slr dc I had in august...very good smoke.

I've smoked a lot of these with mixed results. 01 & early 07 fantastic- and very strong. 02, 04, 05 & 06 all medium bodied. A good, not great smoke. Early 09 too strong & tannic for current smoking, but if set aside for a couple years, could be as good as the 01 & 07. Haven't had any 10 or 11.

Agree , 09 are still strong and tannic but some are starting to open up , just had one try a few days ago , well enjoyed . One of my favored sticks. Thanks for sharing :2thumbs:

I have hard some very good things about this cigar. Mostly how much it can change flavors throughout.

I've also heard they can be quite boring, and a boring 2hr smoke would leave me pretty unimpressed and maybe cast a cloud over the Marq. Thanks for sharing your time spent with the cigar Rush, and opening the discussion.
