mazolaman Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Hey everyone, I've shaved the beard of years off,and am now starting on some kind of humiliating 'tache! Is anyone else taking part in this?
El Presidente Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Before and after photo's required smithy has done it for years but this year he is doing something different and growing pubic hair as a tribute to 70's porno's. I am not sure where he gets these ideas but his sponsorship rate is way up. Elie should also be taking part this year. Rumour is his is shaving his back and taking bets that it grows at a faster rate than his lawn outside. It is a wet humid summer .....but I still would bet on Elie. Great cause!
mazolaman Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Cheers,Rob. I'll post a couple of picks up later. Here is my Movember page,if anyone feels like donating,it's for a good cause...which we all may need some day(maybe not you Cigcars)! Found several types of flora and fauna in the old beard......
bolivr Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Yep, I am going to attempt the "Lemmy" - see pic. A few of us at work have formed a team. It's going to be fun, will post photos.
khamy Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Yup i put my hand up for the humiliation. Being of asian extraction, i lack the ability to grow facial hair so there are consistent calls for refunds on donations at the end of the month. With the advent of higher pixel camera's i believe i maybe able to capture my efforts if i zoom in enough My Link
riazp Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Yup I am, part of the movemeber team at work, the lemmy is awesome! i'm a huge motorhead fan. Too bad i cant pull of a lemmy, i'm going for a handlebar myself.
Phillycyclocross Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I actually created a contest in my area "The Mustachio Bashio". I can barely grow any facial hair at 35 years old and I'm sure to lose but what the hell. Why not.
Pilgrims Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Yup...I am...going "well" we have a team at work called "Team La Tache" as we are wine merchants and agents for that win in the UK!! £4k raised as a team so far!
ckearns Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I'm doing it as well. This is my second year participating and I think its a lot of fun to do and for a great cause. My friends and I started our team last year after our friend's Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer (he's cancer free now) and we were able to raise about 20 grand. Although Smithy and Elie's campaigns sound interesting, but please don't post photos . If you'd like to support a great cause, here's my page: My link
mazolaman Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Uploaded with ImageShack.us That was me when I was a big *** bear.... Uploaded with ImageShack.us this is me as a smooth studmuffin at the beginning of the tache journey...toothbrush or handlebar?I just can't decide.... Go on,post a pick!
investandprosper Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 First year Movember-er. How does one do this?
mazolaman Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 First year Movember-er. How does one do this? I'm also a first timer. Go here and register, this is the US page, each region has it's own page. It's quite simple thereon,as people donate directly, and you don't need to grab cash off people. So,after registering, you just have to peddle your arse, and badgers everyone you know to donate. You can leave a blog, with a few progress piccies etc.

Go on,post a pick! Wow, that's commitment Maz, I am only going to grow one and see how it looks. Starting from my usual clean shaven looks like the easy way now...

With the advent of higher pixel camera's i believe i maybe able to capture my efforts if i zoom in enough Tell me about it! Best I could do is a crappy Fu Manchu style tache... and that'd take more than a year to grow! I'll stick to supporting our hairier BOTL. But take pride in your lack of facial hair for you know what they say, "The less facial hair, the more evolved you are from apes!"

ckearns Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Great work, Kevin. True commitment! A guy on our Movember team had a goatee since 1997 and shaved it off on the first. I guess a great cause will make people do unusual things. Cheers and good luck with your campaign.
mazolaman Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Cheers Conor, loving your previous years taches. As for evolution,I'm definitely in the knuckle dragging silverback category! We've gotta get some piccies of these developing taches up....
investandprosper Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 This is from yesterday, day 2 of Movember.
Phillycyclocross Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Thought you all might enjoy this to go with Movember. http://dadsaretheoriginalhipster.tumblr.com/post/10524822235/your-dad-grew-a-mustache-before-you-did-and-he-had
mazolaman Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Nice one chaps,I'll wait for some actual growth to occurr before posting another pic I think! That website is great Joey,I can still remember the overtight shorts and big bushy taches! My wife isn't keen on the new clean shaven me,she'll be less keen on the tache!
KurtE Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I'm doing one, safe to say the reaction from women isn't good
B.HOBS Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Doing one in honor of my Dad, who was never without his mustache. He passed in January of this year, so I find it one reason to partake, even though it will a terrible attempt. Poor facial hair!
CanuckSARTech Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Yup, growing one since Nov 1st. A bunch of us CF MP guys are away doing a field course in Nova Scotia, and we're growing "dirty field 'staches". It's safe to say that we all look fairly ridiculous. We're going to shave them off for Nov. 11th flights back home, but I'll take pics at that point of my progress for then.
dicko Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 This was my effort last year, very seedy. unfortunately not doing it this year as I have starting work in a very conservative workplace
