ZinZan Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I'll be traveling to the Sin City the 10th October till the 14th. Wooohooooo!!!!! I'm attending a conference there will be staying at Ceasar's, i was hoping for advice from fellow FOHers on which casino allows cigar smoking or is indoor smoking completely banned (this will dictate my selection of cigars to bring). And secondly what to do....... I know GAMBLING but what else is a must as a tourist 1st time in Sin City.

If you are indoors and they serve food or there is no gambling, you probably cannot smoke there. I am told Rhumbar (at Mirage?) is a cool place to smoke at night on the strip. In Caesars you can smoke in the casino, but not in the Forum Shops, unless you are at Casa Fuente. Go see the Bellagio water show, try the Wynn buffet and try Nielsen's Frozen Custard. I'm sure others here go more often and have done other things. I hope you have fun!
MrGlass Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 See O! I got out to Vegas for a weekend earlier this year with the primary plan of seeing as many Cirque du Soleil shows as I could in the three nights. My second plan was to see everything else. But there is so so much to see and do in that place it's crazy. For me, O and the Bellagio water fountains were definitely my highlights. Next time I'm going to make it to the Stratosphere and ride the rides on the roof. I think all of the casino's I went into there allowed smoking inside except for in a few areas and at designated tables. Have a ball!
Rushman Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Not sure where your from but if you have never had one, gotta get out of the casino and go to In and Out Burger, get a "double double animal style", it will change your life.

Disagree. I had one on last trip to california. It was good, but nothing special, just another overrated burger IMHO
Habanakane21 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Disagree. I had one on last trip to california. It was good, but nothing special, just another overrated burger IMHO I agree, I live in LA..In & Out is a joke out here. Tourist love though. Their burgers are below average at best. As far as Gotta go to the Fuente shop for sure and maybe the Rhumbar. Nice vibe. Rhumbar you should bring your own smokes, not a big selection. Fuente has plenty to choose from. I'm a sport book guy and a crap table guy so I stay out of the shows. Have a great time..you'll have fun whatever you decide to do.
Rushman Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Gotta disagree guys. Lived in LA for quite some time and always enjoyed them. Not available where I live now, and it's a friendly reminder.
CaptainQuintero Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 You have to visit the Pawn Shop from the TV show
khamy Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I was there earlier this year, if you have time just do a search for my topic. Rhumbar and Casa Fuente is great but as the other brothers mentioned, almost anything goes in Vegas so just scope around and if you see others doing it, its ok to do it! drinks, cigerattes and sometimes cigars are free too when you gamble, just dont forget to tip the cocktail waitress. If your inclined for shopping, the premium outlets is worth hitting up, there's two, one north of the strip and one south. the larger and better one is the one that is NOT next to the airport. If you have time things to do outside of vegas grand canyon - if you have heaps of time, cause you need more then a day there. red rock canyon - half hour out of city hoover dam valley of the fires take 1 day to walk down the strip and visit all the casinos, its tiring but worth it to soak up the atmosphere, most of the big casinos have some sought of free show, ie the fountain show at bellagio, volcano show at Mirage, pirate show at treasure island etc. its normally hourly and in the evening. take a photo at the welcome sign do at least a few buffets - get the day pass if your really keen (gives you access to 7 or so casino buffets in 24hours) drink heaps of water - with all the free booze and airconditioning, its easy to forget this one. Have a great time friend i'm from the other side of the world (downunder) but its my favourite town!
Rehman Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Have a blast and a half, compadre! Four days, you say? I expect you'll only get enough sleep for two.
LLC Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Best indoor spots for cigars are Crystal's in The Cosmopalian (make a great Mojito) and Casa Fuente in The Forum Shop at Ceasars (ask Mario to help you out if your picking cigars up to smoke). Rumbar is a great outdoor spot. You can smoke in bars and lounges as long as they don't serve food and I think most if not all casinos are fine. If you like to eat you'd be hard pressed to find more great resturants in one area. Joe's Steakhouse in The Forum Shops is one of the best. In terms of shows O is good but Love is probably the best show running now, even if your not a big Beatles fan. Soak it all in, you'll have a blast.
ZinZan Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 You have to visit the Pawn Shop from the TV show I was thinking of that as well. I'm quite a fan of that show. I was thinking of something to bring from Malaysia to be pawned.
ZinZan Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 Have a blast and a half, compadre! Four days, you say? I expect you'll only get enough sleep for two. Cheers Rehman, I suspect i will sleep less than that.
Rehman Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I was thinking of something to bring from Malaysia to be pawned. Now there's a thought, Zin! What will it be? Mahmeri woodcarving? No, that might be too bulky for your carry-on. An antique keris? No, that would get you arrested on arrival. Wayang kulit shadow play figurines? Kelantan silverware, perhaps; one of those exquisite filigree wau bulan kite brooches? You must let us all know. Here's hoping you get a spot on the show!
Loki Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Ride the rollercoaster at the New York New York casino. They packed all the twists turns and loops of a big coaster into a compact version. Great ride.

I have to say the waitress at the Fuente ship in cesars palace was one of the most rude people I have ever experience, horrible service, beware of the Fuente , good smokes yeah , but rude staff. Go somewhere else besides that place.

If you don't come up with anything see if you can get a photo of you being thrown out by Chumlee lol, give them $10 for the pleasure!

Go somewhere else besides that place. It never used to be that way at Casa. I was there a week ago and the service was better, but if you want to buy something bring your American Express. Maduro BBMF was $150 with a limit of one. The Mojitos are pretty good and the $20 special (a Mojito and Casa Fuente Gran Corona) isn't too bad.
goalie204 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 All great recommendations. The Carnegie deli in the mirage is also great and insane portions if you like deli food. Truth is, you could probably spend a month in Vegas and still not even take in half of what there is there. All the more reason to go back again and again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ZinZan Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Cheers lads for all the suggestion. Will definitely try to do as much as i can when i'm there. Good news it looks like my stay in Vegas would be extended till the weekend. I do plan to go Casa Fuente for a smoke but to buy a box where would be a reasonable priced place. I'm not looking for anything fancy maybe some illisione or tatuaje. I've been hearing so much abt it from our fellow members cant seem to get it here in Malaysia. Rehman & Quintero, I'm out of ideas what to bring. Wanted to bring something they will have a hard time figuring but i having hard time figuring out that. Hahahaha. But prob the easiest way is to pay chumlee to kick me out of the shop.
