My sister in law has just returned to Oz after a trip through Central America and a quick 2 day visit to Havana. Before she left she mentioned she might visit Cuba, so I spent a bit of time reading the Ultimate Visiting Cuba thread. I have to say that was the best use of my time I've made in a long time! She returned yesterday with a big smile on her face (she knew she'd done well) and a box of Behike 54's.

Just as one of the posts in the thread suggested, I sent her to the LCDH at the Melia Cohiba hotel. I'd told her to ask for a box of Behikes, as I figured I'd never get such a great opportunity again. And she didn't disappoint! She said she got the last one left. 238CUCs later (about $250 Aussie dollars - what an absolute bargain!) I've now got a box of 10 of these raved about stogies in my humi here in Brisbane.

The quality of the packaging, the aroma when opening it, and then the visual splendour of these immaculately put together stogies...... I tell you what, yesterday was a great day!

Now I just need to get up the nerve to smoke one!

I'm expecting a big step up in quality from the stogies I normally enjoy (Cohiba Siglo II, Hoyo Epi no. 2 and CORO), and I hope I'm not disappointed!

If anyone can suggest a nice Cuban rum to enjoy with it, I will try to locate one here in Brisbane so I can create a pairing to rave about.

ps. She asked me if she could keep the Behike box as she loved it so much, and as much as I would have loved to have kept it myself, how could I say no?

That's awesome, congrats. Beautiful box...and the cigars aren't half bad either. ;)

NICE! For the pairing, I would suggest cold water to start and if that gets boring, maybe some Zacapa 23, El Dorado 15 or (and don't laugh at me) a Sailor Jerry spiced rum and diet coke...Either way, enjoy!

Thanks Shlomo, i am on the lookout for a bottle of Zacapa. I'm also going to try cold water to start. I had one of the BHKs 3 nights ago and although the box was an MES Jun 11 production, the stogie was awesome. very smooth. I can't begin to imagine how nice the others will be in year or two! I'm going to have trouble resisting the temptation in the meantime!

Wow... those are some gorgeous sticks. Have you given them all names? :)

Cheers,
