My fiancé is lucky enough to be good friends with Carlos and was fortunate enough to meet and spend time with Don Alejandro before he passed. I have yet to make my first trip to Cuba but when I do, Laura and I hope to take part in the longest ash contest he spoke of. Thanks for the post.

Thanks for posting the video. I had not seen this one yet. I always enjoy talking to Carlos while I'm in Havana. So much knowledge in that man. Speaking of long ashes, this is Carlos enjoying a long ash last winter. I can't wait to get back there in a few months.

Very nice to watch and nice pic of the ash. He says it is the climate and soil. Could not agree more. I often wonder how they treat the soil or re mediate it with anything. Must be trade secrets.
