Its looking like the storm will take a beating from the Carolinas and be significantly weaker when it gets to NYC, maybe just a tropical storm by then. Sure, its a big storm with very relevant flood concerns but as of the update 1:40 minutes ago I'm not all that concerned about significant wind damage in NYC. The only channel more sensationalized than FOX is the Weather Channel.

If your drunk, NOTHING can hurt you!

I don't know that it's so much a matter of being drunk as much as it is having one's priorities straight and being prepared.

How many people will be stocking up on milk, bread, water, etc - and for what? If it hits hard where you are, you'll have a lot

more to worry about than food stores.

Otherwise, I can buy water, bread, milk, etc, the day after without interuption - just like I'd be able after a major winter storm.

And I'm not making light - but I'd rather ride it out with beer, rum, and wine than water and milk - but that's me.

I'm off to the liquor store for supplies!

THERE'S the man with the plan! Don't forget extra lighters and matches!

I'm all set - except for a nice growler of beer from the local Beverage Distributor...then I will truly be 100% ready (like colt). It seems that the biggest problem with this storm is going to be the surge... Be safe everyone!

I'm here in Connecticut. Looks like things are going to get a little flavorful! They always exaggerate these things though - it's a conspiracy of the Break/Milk/Water/Batteries cartel to scare old ladies. I've got a robust stock of Havana cigars to keep me company while I sit in my basement to make sure it doesn't flood.
