laficion Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Cigar Photo Competition, No.2 My first trip to Cuba in 1999 was a true experience & delight . I had the chance to meet many great people during the first ever Habano Festival and to see all those sites in Havana that i dreamed about for so long. It was at this first Festival that I also had the pleasure of meeting & chatting for a moment with Compay Segundo & Alejandro Robaina, but also the local people like this wonderful woman who was selling her peanuts on the Malecon and with who I spent an hour on a bench sharing a cigar & trying to talk about life and things. She handed me a peso cigar and I gave her 2 HdM Epicure No.1. She is the one at the bottom of the montage with the Hoyo in her mouth. When I came back home I played around with the photos I took , to come out with this Montage that for me, represented the feelings and emotions that have stayed with me even till today. Feeling a bit nostalgic.
Vortigan Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Fantastic stuff! Thanks for sharing. That was the same year I got to travel across Europe and into Eastern Romania,we were doing some work on a local church and delivering aid to the orphanage that it ran.Not sure what my point of telling you that is except that I can well imagine that I came home with similar feelings.Anyway, love the montage and again, thanks for sharing.
