Got to talking cigars with a chap at work today and he told me a story of how a friend of his brought him back the gift of a cigar from a trip to Cuba.He didn't have any idea of what the alleged brand of the cigar was but it was apparently very nicely presented, banded and in its own little coffin. He said he lit it,took his first puff and instantly felt sick and as though his throat was on fire.He told me he put it out instantly, took it apart and discovered that amongst the minimal amount of tobacco it contained,it had been mostly constructed of NEWSPAPER!!! :pooped: I've heard some stories about what's out there and what can be picked up if people don't know what they're looking for or aren't careful etc but that's the worst yet!

I know a guy who claims to have gotten chicken feathers in a fake. If I had even a hint of doubt about the sources I've used, I'd just give up the chase rather than risk getting a cigar filled with who knows what.

I've heard about lone "vendors" on the streets of Cuba targeting obvious tourists offering them $35 boxes of Cohibas, etc. and they were filled with everything from human hair, feces, dirt, etc. At least yours was filled with a lesser quality homogenized tobacco leaf used in Tampa Nuggets!! :perfect10:

Hopefully it wasn't the newspaper they used to line the bird cages. That would be an interesting profile.

As Ken would say, BARNYARD
