MoneyPit Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I got to thinking about cigars that I've initially regretted buying but turned out to really appreciate with age. I'm interested to hear about cigars you hated at first but later turned out to adore with some time to rest in the humidor.
Kangaroo495 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 RyJ Churchill Tubos. Not sure why I got this, as I hate RyJ Churchills and never usually buy tubos. I had it for three years (way back before I even had a humi), and it was mostly lying in a gap between my shelf and my wall. Must've knowcked it down there... When I finally decided to smoke it. W-O-W
mazolaman Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 R and J number 2 tubos. Brought them back from Havana, and didn't like them,so left them and forgot about them. Year and a half later....great floral cigars.
Stalebread Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Had an ugly duckling this morning. Juan López Obus, the French RE from 2006. Picked up a few when they were first released in '06. Smoked a couple and thought they were really bland. Not much going on at all. Didn't even think about buying more of them. The one I had this morning was outstanding. Smooth, delicious, good draw and burn. The flavor and strength got more intense a little past the half-way point. It's taken five years but now I wish I had a few more.
mash Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 PSP #2. Didn't like these when they were young at all, but now with 5 years on them totally different story.
