The Havana Cigar: Cuba's Finest

It's an old book from 97 but it has pictures of ALL the cigars from back in 97 and a good history of Cuban cigars. I got mine for $5 shipped a few years ago through Amazon, but at the moment it is $20 shipped used. Worth more that that easily.

I really like Celebrating Cigar by Anwer Bati. It has photos of every Cuban Cigar that was in production in 2004. It also has a good history of the brands and pages and pages on how cigars and made and the history of cigars. Also a section on famous cigar smokers. Great book.

I would start with Richard B. Perelman, Perelman's Pocket Cyclopedia of Havana Cigars, third edition, Los Angeles, 2005, which is pretty informative and cheap on several second-hand bookstores' websites.

Remember also that Trevor has listed some very good books on the topic under the 'Reference books' section of his website:

Best,

Michel

Are there any good reference books out there, other than the original by min ron nee?

These are the three that I go to the most. I see them as complementing each other.

An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Post-Revolution Havana Cigars. Min Ron Nee. 2005.

The Great Habano Factories. Adriana Martinez Rius. 2005.

The Havana Cigar. Charles Del Todesco. 1997.

I have several other books on my cigar book shelf but they are short on information and long on photos of famous people smoking cigars. They're OK to look through once in a while but not very helpful or useful in my opinion.

Phenomenal book, with all the pull-outs and additional booklets inside. I just wish there was an updated version, or updated pages for some of the brands available.

This book, along with the MRN Encyclopaedia and Rius' Great Habanos Factories are my three go-to books. All well done and respectful works for their purposes.
