Samuli Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I wanted to smoke something older that for sure is relaxing and smooth, so I took lonsdale from my last box of Clasicos(fortunately I have some cigars still left). Last time I smoked those was last fall and they were very smooth and reliable to deliver full smoking enjoyment for 1,5 - 2 hours. Nice oily wrapper, firm to touch, small veins but still very nice appearance. Aroma at cold was sweet aged tobacco, cedar and black tee. Draw was ideal/firm - just the way I like it 1/3: Started with quality sweet earthy cuban aromatic tobacco. Dark chocolate, hints of pepper and leather at background. Creamy afertaste. Excellent start - very exited 2/3: Taste remains excellent, additional taste of coffee and caramel. Rich but still smooth, herbal and creamy - could I ask for more? 3/3: Closer to end body starts to warm, so I slow tempo. No harshes or bitterness. This was possible to smoke all the way to nub, and I gladly did. Excellent cigar. Easy and enjoyable like an old pair of shoes, but hides inside some much intencity and complexity to keep you focused. Rate: 95 with flying colors.

Croz71 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Great review and what an awesome looking cigar Glad u enjoyed it
shrink Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I love this cigar, and have smoked through boxes of '99s, '01s and '03s. With age, they have that creamy, caramel flavor profile that is ideal for a lazy weekend morning or afternoon with a favorite drink. Interestingly, I have never smoked a Clasico, even from the dreaded '99 to '01 vintages, that was in the least bit plugged. You've written a very nice, and quite accurate review.
