El Presidente Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 FBOTL , Any suggestions on storing tubo's in a fridge-o-dor ?If I leave my stix naked , they grow mold . Thanks Mold is a sign of excessive moisture. I am assuming you are using a tupperware dish or similar with an airtight seal. if you are using a tupperware dish to store cigars then you will need to use beads or similar for humidification (any active humidity regulator). Use of a sponge/foam in an airtight environment will lead to mold unless you are opening the container daily/several times a day for a fresh transfer of air.
Dbone Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I'll second that, if your getting mold on your naked cigars to much moisture. Humidity controlling beads are great and after trying most everything else, it's the only product I trust to regulate RH. Brother, once you get that fixed you can safely store your tubos either inside their tubes or not, entirely up to you. Personally, I will leave them within their tubes after I've opened them for an initial inspection.
Cig Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 If you're gettin mold you need to clean the entire container out and kill all the spores. They could be jumping on every naked cigar you put in there. Maybe the tubos aren't getting moldy because the spores aren't penetrating the tube?
