cigarroverzulu Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Anyone here have a large collection of vintage CCs? I have seen a few pop up on some blogs. I am always kind of shocked when they fire them up! At what point do you not smoke them, because they are a 30 year old or 50 year old piece of history?

Puros Y Vino Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 You still see some Pre-Embargo stuff out there. One cigar magazine had a great article on a find of two 50 cabs from the late 1800's. They were apparently very well kept. The smoking reviews were very favourable with the only complaint being that they needed to be smoked slowly due to the fact they were a bit brittle and overheating them would ruin them. I have a RyJ Cedro #3 from 1960 which still smells great and a few Cuban Davidoffs kicking around. I say smoke them!
sloth Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 The smoking of such a cigar, IMO, is the historical moment you are looking for! Unless it was the 1980s-ish noncuban LGC I smoked a few years back.... i didn't need to smoke that.
