Holysmokes Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Today I received a box of 15 Edmundo tubos from a popular vendor in Hong Kong. All seems fine, except for 2 or 3 things. 1. There is no bar code at the bottom of the warranty seal 2. The warranty seal is much paler in comparison to my other boxes 3. The box does not contain any holograms. I am not very familiar with 15 boxes of tubos, so maybe this is normal, but I somehow doubt it. I was hoping someone can possibly help me figure out the authenticity of these. Oh, and all the tubos are 100% identical to the tubos I had previously bought and the cigars are very nice as well. My only issue is the outside packaging of the box (warranty sea & bar code) Any thoughts?
bob25 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Bar codes and holograms are being used on boxes from 08 but you can still find some without them. That being said, lots of vendors remove them in order prevent them being trace back to them.
Holysmokes Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 Actually what you are saying would make alot of sense considering the box I received is dated June 08. But what about the pale warranty seal??
Smallclub Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 a popular vendor in Hong Kong. 1. There is no bar code at the bottom of the warranty seal 3. The box does not contain any holograms. The hologram and the bar codes are on the same warranty seal (each at one end), then if the vendor has removed it… See: http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/info-packaging.htm#Seals I wouldn't worry about anything coming from that vendor…
Holysmokes Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 What about hte pale warranty seal? I compared it with a box purchased from Czar and another boxed purchased from another vendor in Canada. Czar and the canadian vendors warranty seals are identical. The other is a lighter green.

Holysmokes Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 I will post some pictures tomorrow morning (it's midnight here in Ottawa) So tomorrow morning I will get right on that. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this. What scares me is I have about 10 to 12 boxes coming in from them in the following week. I really hope they are legit lol. Thanks
mazolaman Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 This is a response I received from a supplier, after I requested info regarding the verification number. "So I emailed one of my suppliers regarding this subject,I would add that this is a supplier whom I trust. This is the response I recieved. Dear Kevin, Thank you for your note. The bar code you speak of is removed from boxes for all orders that are exported out of ????? This bar code is for traceability for Habanos distributors. As the cigars we receive from the ???????? Habanos Importer are suppose to be sold on the ???????? territory, we remove this tracing bar code to protect the local Habanos distributor. we are not suppose to sell these cigars outside of ?????????. I believe most online retailers do this, otherwise they are putting at risk the hand that supplies them. Of course I remain at your disposal, should you need any further information or assistance." This explains your lack of verification number, from a reliable source.
