cigaraholic Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Looks like it's time to burn some 06 Bolivar. Yesterday I woke up to silence, has to be snowing.........yep. Had power but knew I wouldn't have it for long, I was right. An 8 inch snow fall is rare where I live so it pretty much shuts everything down, for a few hours. Then it's do you really have to.... Nothing to do but smoke cigars and put wood in the stove. Started the day with a LGC #3, very nice and they don't make lots of smoke. A size perfect for crowds, or your home alone with just the phone. Ready to fire up the Bolivar and thought if I won't do a review even when it's all quiet on the western front I'll probably never do another. Been smoking thru a cab of these for a few months, they've been nice mid-morning cigars with a cup of coffee. Electromagnetic forces must be in control. This cigar was like smoking a Haagen Dazs vanilla & almonds bar. Creamy, buttery tobacco that tells you if they all were this good I could get use to this and I don't want this to end. Perfect day to pick a winner.
ckearns Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Looks like a winner for sure! That Boli had some real nice colour to it and I'm sure it was sweet as a nut. Snow in Napa does sound unusual. At lease you found a nice way to kill some time. My wife and I did a SF, Napa, Yountville trip last year and had the greatest time. It really is a special region. Cheers.
cigaraholic Posted February 19, 2011 Author Posted February 19, 2011 Snow in Napa is very unusual, I'm at the top of the valley behind Mt Helena about 45 miles north of Napa. 1100 ft but rarely get snow to stick, this year 2 biggest snows in the 20 years I've been here.
bassman Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I was actually disappointed with my 06 BPCs, but the early 07s are amazing now.
Rogers72 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Great review of one of my favorites. I can't seem to keep a box around for more than a month or two so I can only dream of how one is with a few years!
DOORJOK Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Yes, I agree these are a great mid morning smoke with a cup of good coffee. Great review. I am slowly burning my way through a cabinet of these as well after reading reviews of them on Cuban Lou's before I found this forum.
Dbone Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Thanks for the review and pictures. The Boli PC is a favorite of mine - great little smokes with solid core flavors. Smoked that guy down to a nub, nice.
anthem Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Great review, thank you for sharing. Boli PCs are one my favorites.
