Peter11216 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Here are some photo's of a box recently offered to me. I did not buy it. Curiously, the guy offering the box would not tell me exactly where he bought it from, nor how much he paid, only that he had gone to Cuba last June of 2010, and bought them then. He thinks that the date stamp that reads "NOV 10" means that the box was meant to go on sale in November 2010, even though he bought them in June 2010. I don't really know what to think. I'm under the impression that this style of box is not sold in Cuba, in the first place. Sorry for the fuzziness. These are the pictures I was given. What thinkest thou?
Puros Y Vino Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 They kinda look like diplomatic boxes. I could have sworn seeing some photos here of a whole bunch of them.
PLUSH Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 They kinda look like diplomatic boxes. I could have sworn seeing some photos here of a whole bunch of them. Yep, I was just looking at those the other day. Except the label was different. Here they are http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/inde...&pid=201174
MPS Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I would have loved to see some skin Trevor has a good photo of what it is supposed to look like. CubanCigarWebsite

I actually offered a very, very low price to the guy, just because the box was cool looking. He didn't go for it, because, I think, he honestly believes they are authentic. In an email he wrote, "I give you my word that are orginals. My father work [sic] in this area." It's unbelievable how many people have a relative who works with in the industry! I'm sort of curious to find out if he manages to unload them, but don't really want to correspond any further.
PLUSH Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Just looking at the boxes, from the Cohiba seal on the left in the pics from FOH and Trevor's, there are 10 and a half little boxes. In your pic there are more. I'm sure there could be discrepancy but I'm sure those things are looked at.
sepp Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 He bought them in June 10 with a November 10 box code?
El Presidente Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 You have a better chance of catching a leprechaun than of that box being legit
#2 man Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 With a Warrantee seal like that you can go wrong
shortsqueeze Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Anyone seen the "TABACUBA" sticker on a legitimate box with a recent box code, with or without an additional warranty seal?
peteando Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Anyone seen the "TABACUBA" sticker on a legitimate box with a recent box code, with or without an additional warranty seal? Yes. Upmann Connoisseur No. 1 AGO 10. I was wondering myself about the little seal.
