Noob seeking Scotch recommendations

Personally,I love most of the Islay Malts.

Bruichladdich being a favourite,as it isn't too peaty.

As a sacrilidgeous aside,there is also an Islay blend available,called Black Bottle....which is a very good whisky....siungle malts aren't all there is to whisky.

I love Black Bottle, especially the Black Bottle 10 year. I totally agree with you. I used to sell BB to people all the time who were curious about the Islay malts, but didn't want to drop the cash on one having never had one first. Great starting place for Islays, and also a great bottle to have on the shelf for a daily dram.
