cloganplatt Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Greeting folks! Newbie to CCs from Fayetteville AR. Couple of quick questions - being a new guy I like to do research. I have read quite a bit about freezing new acquisitions for three days to kill beetles, larve etc. Really? Never done this in the past and my cabinet humi has never suffered any ill effects... Also, as a fan of the medium to full body CCs, any brands I should embrace? Any I should steer clear of? Thanks! Looking forward to being part of the community! Cheers -
Trevor2118 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Welcome to the FOH forum. Regarding freezing, the are many discussions if you use the search function. You might also like to check out these pages as a starter. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/info-ciga..._&_Problems
CanuckSARTech Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Cheers and welcome. Yes, as Trevor stated, use the search function to find some of that info. For flavour profiles, search for "Flavor profiles" also for some tips there.
#2 man Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Welcome to FOH . I would recommend trying singles or samplers and decide what you like
mazolaman Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 welcome mr Platt, For the more flavourfull brands, try Partagas and Bolivar, you won't be disappointed.

fred170 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Welcome to the forum. I would start, as suggested above by one of the members, with a sampler, roughly 10 to 12 sticks. Find which one you enjoy, pair it with a good spirit, chocolate, and / or coffee (expresso). Be sure though to let us know if you taste "CARROTS" ( I will never forgive Smithy for that comment on the San Cristobal review)
