edameff Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I have seen this book on the net at Phoenicia website (they also have a great iPhone app). Anyway I can't find any other info about this book, I would love to get my hands on it. Anyone have any ideas?
Jesuscookies Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 One click over to amazon http://www.amazon.com/Great-Habano-Factori...z/dp/8460940241
cigcars Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 *Better hurry on that amazon link, TropDoc...it says there's only one used copy on hand - for $150!!
CanuckSARTech Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Don't know if that's the book he's looking for. There's the "Great Habano Factories", and then there's "Habano the King", both by Adriano Martinez Rius. I have the Great Habano Factories book, as the listing posted for Amazon shows, and it's a fabulous book. Hard to find and expensive, but it's a very good companion to MRN's Encyclopaedia. Doc, please confirm and let us know which you're indeed looking for?
MrGlass Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I'm not entirely sure if it's actually either of those books. The pages does say that it is the most recent and complete of Adriano Martinez' work and it doesn't look that old. I've had a search Doc, but I can't find any reference to that book other than the Phoenicia page.

Same. I now see the exact book that Doc's referring to, and haven't found anything besides that page either. Sounds like an interesting book. I think I'd like the format too - both English and Spanish throughout. Intriguing.

thechenman Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 The best Cuban Cigar Book by far is "An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Post-Revolution Havana Cigars" by Min Ron NeeVery pricey, but well worth the money. Looking forward to the updated MRN...
edameff Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Thanks all, I guess this book is not in print yet, the Phonecian page is the only place it is listed. I love the MRN book, I also can't wait on the new edition. If anyone gets wind of any info on "The Great Book of the Habano", please let me know.

If anyone could give me a hint where to find the "Great Habano Factories" it sure would be appreciated.

If anyone could give me a hint where to find the "Great Habano Factories" it sure would be appreciated. That "Great Habano Factories" is a great book too. Definitely a companion piece to MRN's Encyclopaedia. It's hard to find, and 90% of the places that I could find by Googling it led to dead ends. However, I did find one retailer with multiple copies of it left, and got mine ordered and received a couple months ago. With shipping and whatnot, you're looking at around $170 USD, so it's pricey (as is the Encyclopaedia). However, after I've received and looked through my copy, I can definitely say it's well worth it. If anyone doesn't mind spending that cash for this book, and still wants the retailer info, just send me a PM and I'll get you the details.

CanuckSARTech Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I did another search earlier today, found and ordered the book. Probably the same retailer you know about. If it's from a certain Don, then you are correct. Great book well worth it.
cigcars Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 *One thing I might recommend: When Min Ron Nee's book came out, even when gainfully employed, I knew I did not want to spend over $100 on it. So I went to the Google search engine and just typed in his book & put something like "for sale" or "discount price" after it. I found MRN's book for $60 - NOT used! It seems there was a group that got together to buy it in bulk and were able to offer it at that price. Just a suggestion to state that anything hotly sought after and under specific circumstances CAN be gotten!
kjellfrick Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 If it's from a certain Don, then you are correct. Great book well worth it. Nope, not the same place. I found mine in Germany. It will be a good read with the Christmas cigars!

Leopold Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Been looking for this myself for a while, very hard to find, and Amazon gives ZERO results, BUT Amazon.fr has one! Used though and at Eur200 it starts to reflect collectors status... and is too expensive for me unfortunately. http://www.amazon.fr/great-Habano-factories-Adriano-Mart%C3%ADnez/dp/8460940241
