Despite what some people say about the LEs being all hype and no substance for the price, i've always felt that each year at least one of the LEs becomes a keeper.

Too soon to know if this RA will be next year's gem.

Ramón Allones: New Size with the old squared green band. LE 2011.

No other details at this time

Wow only the second non-gobal or non-niche brand to be an LE.

Is Cuaba going to get demonted?

Maybe so. Not sure what would make them different except a retro band. I think they all taste reminiscent of each other. And some of them taste exactly alike. It must be the cocoa dust they sprinkle on the wrappers. But I can't easily tell one from another, like I can with the regular production marcas and vitolas. To me, they all have the same EL earthy/chocolate-y thing going. It obscures whatever blend that was intended.

I agree. Most taste like Dominican maduros to my taste. I have enjoyed a few and I do believe that certain blend profiles mesh better than others with the darker, maduro-like wrappers. But yes. A lot of sameness.

Anything to promote Ramon Allones is good in my book. A regular-release RA 898 on the horizon? Can fools dream?

Do you really want to give me another opportunity to ruin your LE business? -LOL

I would have to agree with Kommy, simply bringing back the 898 would do me fine. Old band, new band, no band would be better! -P
