Some last minute complications precluded my attendance at the first Toronto FOH meet in October. I need to rectify that....so I'd like to propose we do a holiday meetup somewhere very cigar friendly in Toronto - my studio  For those who don't know, I'm a photographer, and I work out of a studio about 1000sq ft in St. Clair & Weston Road (aka 'the junction) area. Easily accessible by car or transit. In colder weather I often stay back after a job and enjoy a smoke...got me thinking I could offer to open up the space to the FOH crew for a meetup. We can order in from Vesuvios, a really great Italian place nearby that will deliver....pizzas, pastas, and the like. BYOB & cigars

Let's try to work on the date first. Here are the options: December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 Please state your availability for those dates. I'll wait a week or so before declaring the preferred/confirmed date.

I'm certainly open to suggestions, but here's a tentative agenda...

5pm arrival/meet&greet...get your drink on

6pm dinner arrives. need more drinks to wash down that food.

carry on with drinks (of course) and light up a lovely after dinner habanos

optional1: open-floor show & tell cigar & cuba related photos, videos, artifacts...bring your goodies

optional2: i leave a studio flash and backdrop setup and we take Toronto FOH Portraits, either/or of a serious and idiotic nature :o

wrap up whenever

Again, I'm open to ideas so feel free to comment. Let's discuss...

Awesome, Tony. I'd be game for either Friday, December 3rd, or Saturday, December 4th. I actually prefer the Saturday, as I'd be at work on that Friday until 5pm or so, and I have a 3 hour drive ahead of me to come up there. I could always see about taking that afternoon off if the Friday evening works best for everyone else. But the other weekend doesn't work for me at all.

Great idea, and awesome offer, Tony - much appreciated.

Sounds like it will be a great time, almost all those dates work for me.

Very interested. Can't make many of the suggested dates though. Your studio looks like a great place to hang out. I'll keep an eye on the thread and see if I can swing by. :cigar:

Saturday nights work well for me. (Dec 4 or 11). December is a tricky time for scheduling events since everyone's doing Christmas and holiday get-together parties etc. Hopefully there will be enough interest to make a gathering worthwhile.

Haven't heard of any other details for this, so I've unfortunately made other plans.

On the other hand, I'm going to be at CFB Borden in Barrie this week, from Tuesday the 7th, through until 4pm on Thursday the 9th. So, don't know if there's a restaurant/bar/hotspot in northern TO by the 400/401 interchange for smoking cigars, but I'd be up to meet anyone for dinner at such a place before I head home that evening.

If i still lived in Angus, I'd say my place. Thankfully, I got the hell outta there years ago! What a depressing town!

Hey bud I'm currently working in Barrie as well. Don't know any place to to smoke cigars in Barrie but do check out PIE wood oven pizza (34 Commerce Park Drive) as they got some quality pies in store. If you need to stock up on cigars check Jay's Convinience at Mapleview/Barrie View (at the same plaza as Harveys behind Shell), guy used to be the manager of Smoker's Heaven in Yorkville, do ask to check out his MRN book jotted full of notes, that guy is serious about cigars.

As for the meet I still have this saturday reserved for it, please let us know if you're still up for it Tony. Cheers

I suspect it's a no-go? If that's the case you guys can find me up in Blue Mountain

I'm sure there'll be lots of chances in the upcoming months, cheers.
