A college mate and fraternity brother of mine finished his second novel which went on sale last week. I don't typically try to pimp out anything, but this novel was mesmerizing. A story about a successful Beverly Hills doctor who came up from a poor Brooklyn household, became a highly regarded pediatrician in LA, and how he lost everything and turned into a transient in the beach communities of Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades (a result of a most unfortunate family tragedy).

I bought the book from his book signing in LA on Tuesday and finished it on Wednesday. I don't usually flip through 300 pages in two days, but I couldn't put this one down.
