After a physio appointment in the city, it was time to wander back to work at West End along the river. A Trinidad Reyes kept me company. Draw was perfect, temperature was cool, no glaring sun because it is overcast and the cigar turned out to be the perfect length for my walk.

This is not something I often do because of the time required, but today this fit in perfectly with my schedule. It has made me wonder though - have you popped out of work for a cigar and a stroll, and if so, do you do it often?

Sadly not, being self employed,I can't spare the time.

I do like to puff on one on the way to work, and am happy if the particular job is far enough away to get a good way through the smoke!

Sometimes Ill smoke some on the way to work, then finish the stick on my lunch. Do it at least once a week.

As much as I would love it, I have never had the good fortune to do so.

I take a stroll with a cigar just about every lunch. If the weather is too rainy or too windy I hesitate, but I often go out anyway. Good recuperation as my path goes in a great lakeside setting.

I have a smoke on the way to work. Usually I'm wearing shorts and slippers. I keep my work clothes on a hangar and enclose it in a big heavy duty trash bag. When I get to work, I ditch the shorts and don the work attire.

After my last client of the day (I usually time it so that I am on the freeway during the afternoon traffic) I sit in the car driving slowly and enjoying my second, and usually last, cigar of the day reflecting on the day's events or cursing those who pissed me off earlier.

Those are good days.....

The not-so-good days, I'm so busy and I get knocked around so much during the day that I usually just go home and lie in the fetal position too tired to smoke a cigar, crying silently to myself. Hoping to one day be a net fisherman smoking habanos 6-7 times a day.

The thought has crossed my mind however I often find I do not have the time.

I used to have a cigar while out for a walk, or waiting to catch the train into town, but I found I wasn't enjoying the puro as much, what with having the wind come up and burn the stick unevenly plus blow the smoke back in my eyes. I also became self-conscious of ill-bred folk giving me filthy looks. Anyway, to give a good cigar the attention it deserves, I now prefer to have it while sitting still, inside or out, thus better contemplating the myriad joys it delivers.

I second this. Smoking and walking just doesn't do it for me. Wind either, for that matter. Half of the enjoyment is the aroma of the cigar after you exhale or while it rests in the tray. I feel like I'm missing out otherwise.
