Due to member demand  we will be taking Video Review requests. Next weeks is done (Revisiting R&J 4 Exhibicion 4 (07/08 comparison to an 05). After that, give us your thoughts!

Question - what about doing a re-visit request? I think that's what we were getting into in that other thread, but instead of the example you quote (R&J Ex 4, 07/08 box comparison to an 05), how about doing a one-year-later (or so) revisit of the earlier-smoked 05 box? I know it might be something of a logistics headache, to sort that out (most are probably smoked by now B) ), but it might be something for future thought of planning these reviews.

to a degree (had a couple of very pleasant PLPC's the other day) but for the vids, just do what i am told.

What about JL1's? Lisa sent me a gorgeous box of these earlier in the year. Masses of lush creamy smoke and a relaxed perfect draw. Corona Gorda is a great size.

Good to hear, hopefully you'll get to the Czar deck soon.

I need to try one of these, I keep hearing good about them. The only JL I had was a young no.2 that was delivered to me and didn't get to sit for over a month before smoking so I didn't like it much.

How about some forbidden fruit? We can live vicariously though you. Ideas along the lines of:

1. Truly well aged sticks (90's as the youngest)

2. Davidoff

3. Partagas Serie D Reserva, Black Label, Che, etc...

4. Other custom rolls - Hamlett, etc

Obviously, supply constraints may limit feasibility here.

On the flip side, I think we would get a kick out of your opinions on NC smokes. Padron, Opus, etc....

This is something that I thought about, too.

I would love to see you fellas review a Padron Serie 1926 No. 2 - a double review with one in the Maduro, and one in the Natural.

I'm just going through the video reviews these last few weeks, and I'm only about 1/2 way through. So, I don't know if you've done it yet.

But, the Padron Serie 1926, although they are MORE than expensive, are really the only non-Cubans that I smoke occasionally. I've tried many a sad, sad NC, and I just don't give them the time of day anymore. I don't see what the marketing hype is behind most of this crap. True, my palate is probably too acclimatized to Cubans, and so NC's taste too off for me. But the Padron Serie 1926 is some nice stuff. I'm more of a fan of robusto, piramides, and toro format Cubans. So, the Padron's take with their belicoso No. 2 is very nice - I thoroughly enjoy this in the Maduro version.

Hell, if you're going to review a NC, might as well review one of the best then, right?

This is a pretty good idea too, the padron 1926 is my favorite NC.

Without denying that some non-Cuban cigars are of excellent quality, would it be appropriate to review them in a forum dedicated to Havanas? There are more than enough Cubans to be considered, just as there are more than enough forums in cyber world devoted to non-Cubans. Just wondering...

True. Very good and valid point.

Yes! LOL. I just recently watched that video - I'm just going through the different review videos in the last few days. A riot!

Ken, you're such an introvert! (As is Rob and Smithy for that matter!) ;):2thumbs:
