So out of current production, what would you suggest for the birth of a child?

Soon to be father is not a fan of exceptionally spicy cigars, and also prefers smaller formats such as petite coronas.

So... what do you say?

You could get him a run of the mill, ordinary Macanudo.

It should be something special, something memorable. Considering the prefered format and profile, a Cohiba Siglo II Tubo would seem quite appropriate. I'm assuming you're thinking in terms of a single for the new dad.

I love the idea of gifting singles in tubed version. It makes transport easier, gives the recipient the ability to chose their own time to smoke it without worrying overly much about storage for awhile, and after they smoke it they have a little souvenir left to hold on to.

For a "birth of child" cigar the empty tube might even become a little time capsule... role up a copy of the birth certificate or a photo or the newborn, stuff the hospital wristband inside, or a lock of hair, a note written to the child to be read when they grow up... pretty much anything dad thinks will be interesting to look back on 15 or 20 years later... and the cigar & tube themselves become part of the story.

Nice idea, Jacksfull. Even a Partagas P2... although maybe a bit spicy.

I'm not sure if you can get DCs in tubos, but a HDM Double Corona would make a majestic celebratory smoke for a non-smoker.

That La Gloria Cubana Medaille D'or #1 or #2 looked magnificent, or an El Rey del Mundo... especially to play off the 'king of the world' euphoria.

Good call Jacksfull - I'd agree with the Cohiba (Siglo 1 or 2), or a Trini Reyes as Khomeinist suggested.

I'd like to add that perhaps a Cohiba Secretos, Punch Royal selection 11 or 12 would also be nice. ;)
