This weeks video is the Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure No 1 GLA JUL 08. This is a cigar which consistently flies under the radar. let's investigate further.

Lovely review fella! I've been an HDM fan for years. My day to day smoke has been an Epi 2 for over 10 years. Occasionally a Double Corona mixed in here and there. I do agree with you that in the mid 2000 they were crap. I grabbed a box of HQ from you guys about 2 months ago and they are outstanding!!!

So now after seeing this review I will be looking into Epicure No.1 next. I just purchased a box of Epi 2's today from Lisa....Hoping to get my named drawn!!! but next up will be the Epi 1's. Thanks again. I'm sold

Not for everyone :buddies: One of my favorite corona gordas - nearly through an '06 box, with an '08 box in storage. Great work, guys!

Nice to see Stumpy Wazz back on deck (his banjo pickin'........ not so much).

Thanks Mate, it was good to be back.

The guys actually asked me if I took requests and of course I said I would.

I was surprised to find that Rob and Smithy both have the same taste in music because they both asked me to play Far Far Away.

Great review guys, there's not much that I can add on this wounderful

cigar. Only maybe that, yes, It has picked up a bit more richness in the last

few years. Thanks for the pitch Rob but yes, It's still quite hot at the moment here,

26, 28C at night and this Epicure No.1 really does the job.

I have been smoking at least 2 Epicure No. 1 a day for I don't know how many

years now for the exact same reasons that you've mentioned on your review.

It's true that this cigar has to be smoked in a certain atmosphere of relaxation

and calm but once you've found the right setting, you're not ready to forget the experience.

The HdM Epicure No.1 , Well, how can I sum it up ?

OH, ok, let me put it this way:

It's not the King, nor a ruler. Even less, a Dictator or a tyrant.

It's just an all around nice cigar.;)

And BTW, on the heading it's not EICURE but rather EPICURE :D

Rob or anyone else. In the review you discuss the 05 negatively.

I am just wondering what was so bad about the 05's? Saw some 05 cabs floating around and was thinking about buying, but just wonder if this year would not do well for long term aging.
