Disburden Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 It's getting to the point where I am looking around in the forums for a few hours day, mouth watering thoughts of Habanas, wondering when I should take the plunge with the Czar. As a beginner with CC what would you guys advise me to look to get as my first Czar purchase? I like medium-full bodied smokes and I am seeking complexity...of course. I was thinking maybe the 10 box of Partagas serie P no.2s as my firsts trigger pull! Thanks! Nick.
Cambridge1 Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I would ask Rob if he could put a good sampler together for you.

jacksfull Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 That's a pretty neat idea, thanks! The folks at Czar will certainly have the best info on what's currently smoking well. For my part, I would say, grab some Diplomaticos #4's before they're gone. They're being discontinued, but still around at this point, and fit that Med-Full preference to a "tee". I've been running through a box of SEP 09's that have blown me away every time... not a single dud in the box so far. Have managed to put back 2 more boxes for a rainy day, and will keep buying them as long as I can find them.

I am probably going to have to get these since they're not going to be around anymore. We all know I am going to spend a ton of money anyway, right?
Guest rob Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 There is no doubt in my mind that every CC newcomer should start out with a sampler pack of some kind. There ars so many different flavour profiles, albeit subtle to the tastebuds for some. I'd also have the sampler pack contain a few different sizes so that you can determine what vitolas you enjoy most. Oh, and you can kiss good bye to your wallet as soon as you try a few.

Very strong advise that I have taken to heart and most likely will go that route for my first CC purchases. Thanks, Rob! I already knew my wallet was going out the window, I prepared in advance! lol.
khomeinist Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Sampler is a good call. Do you have a favorite vitola (shape)? A robusto or corona gorda sampler will help you get going. Enjoy. Btw. I recommend two of each as it often takes me a couple of cigars to get a feel for a new flavor profile.

Disburden Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 I shot an email over tonight to see what I can find out before buying, communication seems best in this situation where I am a total novice,. Thanks again to everyone for their input! Cheers
Wicky Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 As a newbie to the Czar myself, I started in April of this year with a 30 cigar sampler. The good part of a months salary later I haven't looked back. My humidors are now stocked and I could not be happier with the quality of the cigars and the Czar staff. Take the plunge. Spend as much as you can afford and enjoy. You won't be dissapointed!
MIKA27 Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Hi there! I'd recommend perhaps the Bolivar Belicosos finos, Vegas Robaina Unicos, Partagas D5 (Stronger than the P2's), San Cristobal La Punta.
Disburden Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 Well, good news, I talked to Lisa via Email and she's going to help me out with a sampler! Very nice person and a very cool service. I was very happy with how personal her email was. cool!
