Bolivar Royal Corona TEB JUNE 08 (from Czar HQ box)

This specimen had been hanging around for a few weeks in an old tubo waiting for the right time and place – the opportunity presented itself this morning – in my little world Monday morning is still technically part of the weekend. The place: Garden of the Royal Hospital (now a museum of modern art) great spot to disappear for a quite smoke - Smithy, take note, no doubt you will be checking out some contemporary art as part of your itinerary….

Drink: takeaway coffee

Aroma at cold: woody / cedar – tubo lining probably influenced this.

Draw at cold: More wood and dried fruit – nice firm draw.

Construction: feels excellent, nice give with no hard or soft spots. Nice slightly reddish matte wrapper.

1/3 – Almost mint-like character on the opening – very nice – this lasts for the first few minutes before giving way to a very nice fruity sweetness. Towards the end of 1/3 toasty, rich tobacco starts to develop along with the baked-fruit sweetness. Excellent development so far.

2/3 – The rich, toasty tobacco becomes richer with nice blasts of sweetness and an occasional hint of the mint-like character found on the opening. Can’t put this down. Complex and interesting enough to distract me from my book throughout.

3/3 – No huge change between 2/3 and 3/3 – rich toast, baked fruit and no hint of bitterness despite the fact that I am devouring this. Nice surprise towards the end of the 3/3 – hint of marshmallow or more accurately ‘flogs’ – those twisted marshmallow sweets I loved as a kid (still do). Stayed on the mild side throughout. Delicious. 45 min smoke which is pretty quick for a robusto imo. Loved it. This box has been consistently good. Would give it an easy 90 or maybe even stretch to 92/100.

Nice review! Wow that is some place to light up. Have been trying to get my hands on a quality box of BRC. I love the line and think I have a box of all boli's except the BRC.

Nice review. I also reviewed this cigar. Your wrapper was darker than mine. Looks delicious. I love the garden location too. I was only in my garage watching TV.
