Joker Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Picked up a couple of these few months ago with an order from the Mix & Match Premium Sampler - first taste of a Trinidad Pre light - beautiful wrapper, firm / no soft spots, light draw 1/3 - damp straw / earth with slight spice on the palette 2/3 - honeycomb / burning well 3/3 - toast / increase in spice level but not harsh Superb physcial properties ie. construction / burn / plumes of smoke Medium strength However at this price point, was expecting a lot more in the flavour profile. Prefer the RASS or even SLR Regio Are the Trinidad Reyes similar in flavour to the Robusto T ?? - any comments appreciated. Happy smoking
Guest rob Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Thanks for the review and photos. I have been meaning to pick some of these up for a while now... might just get a 10 pack this week.
Joker Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 Rob Once you have tried one, I would be interested in reading your review. I certainly will try this cigar again, as I have read so many great reviews of this cigar. As you know ones pallate changes over time as does the flavour profile of cigars. Joker
android Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Thanks for the review....what a great cigar for me.
mbrody Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Appreciate the review. Very well constructed and performing cigar. Flavor profile is solid, but I personally prefer the taste of other Robustos at the moment. Like everything, that can change with time!
thechenman Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Sorry to hear your experience was not up to par. Personally, the Robusto T is my favorite vitola in the Trinidad line up right now. For me following it would be the Reyes and then the Funadores. While I agree with you that the Trini marca is expensive relative to most other marcas...it is an exceptional cigar that I continue to enjoy fairly regularly. I find the three vitolas I mentioned to be well worth the money spent.
