Today I was browsing through my "Suggested Friends" on facebook, and normally, I just click to delete, but this time there was a certain friend. It was suggested to me that I befriend Chuck (Tampa)...... I guess through my associations with cigar pages, facebook decided to suggest him... But it was quite a surreal thing to experience, and sadly, I didnt send the request.

This leads to my observation. When we pass away, all of our online activity stays online. I think its sorta strange, that in this day and age, with all of our digital experiences, that we are able to live on through the internet. Im not sure if this would make it harder, to see a loved one's online activity, or to help with the coping process because we can relive their lives through their postings, pics, blogs, etc...

Just a thought. RIP, Tampa. ;)

I've thought the same thing... I know a friend's cousin who died young because of cancer. She had a myspace account and her family got access to it and made it into a memorial for her.

I suppose it might be different for each individual. I must admit that when I read through the forum and come across one of Chuck's posts,

I often experience an initial pang of sorrow. But those feeling have always been superseded by happiness with the thought that we do have

his words and pictures here with us at FOH.

My grandmother passed not long ago and one item that I got was her bible. I'm not very religious and this bible was destined to end up like the other bibles I have, stuck on a book shelf. Although it is just a book and not an on-line account, but while flipping through the pages I noticed her private notes she took. Those few sentences meant more than any of the other words on the pages.

I also ran across one of Tampa's posts and had a deep feeling of sorrow for his family but also a great pride that his words and thoughts live on.
