ChanceSchmerr Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 As a long-time Blue Jays fan whose heart was broken when he demanded and got a trade out of town, this makes me want to cry....and smash something . You knew he would do it one day, but to see it in a crummy Phillies jersey - what a punch to the gut. I hate baseball sometimes.
Habanakane21 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I feel you....I'm a Mariner fan. We had high expectations before the season began. We had Cliff Lee and Felix Hernandez...1 Cy Young winner and a runner up last year. Now look at us....in last place. I'm pissed I bought the baseball package. $180....could have bought a nice box of cigars for that!!! ha ha...
Guest rob Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 For the sake of us who don't know.... but what does it mean to "throw a perfect game"?
ChanceSchmerr Posted May 30, 2010 Author Posted May 30, 2010 In baseball, if the starting pitcher pitches the whole game, and allows no batter to reach base, either by hit, walk, error, hit by pitch or anything. 27 batters up, 27 batters down. There have been only 20 perfect games in 134 years of Major League Baseball.
Guest rob Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 That sounds like it would have been special to see. Im sure the crowd were going nuts.
Habanakane21 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 There has been 2 perfect games this year already. Amazing
reg Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 There has been 2 perfect games this year already. Amazing it is amazing. I wonder if there is going to be an increased number going forward for some reason. we also saw a no hitter this season, though those aren't nearly as rare, but almost as impressive
gk404 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I was at the Blue Jays game yesterday, wearing my Halladay jersey... go figure! Although I too hate to see him do it for the Phillies instead of the Jays, he's always going to be a Jay in his roots, and I'm just happy for him. Congrats Roy!
MPS Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 The man is just filthy. Wish I went to the game last night to see a wonderful display of baseball history.
brutusthebuckeye Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Halladay was nasty!!!!!! I think with "less"guys using PED's we will see more dominance from these pitchers....
