Wicky Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I've been hankerin' for some Julietas lately. Polished off a box of BCGs a while back and they were fantastic! But other than that I have been out of the churchill rotation for a while. What do you guys like in this size?
El Presidente Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I've been hankerin' for some Julietas lately. Polished off a box of BCGs a while back and they were fantastic! But other than that I have been out of the churchill rotation for a while. What do you guys like in this size? Other guys smoke more Churchills than I but for what it is worth I enjoy: Sir Winston mid and late 08 Esplendido Bolivar Corona Gigantes Cabinet Punch Churchills. HDM Churchills.
Colt45 Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 One of my favorite sizes, and the Bolivar may very well be my favorite cigar of any size. The Upmann Sir Winston is right up there as well, and I've also been enjoying Hoyos from '07. I do like the RyJ also, but my understanding is that they can be rather hit or miss. A dark horse for me is the Ramon Allones Estupendo. Personally, I've seen glimpses of greatness - time will tell.
Van55 Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 H Upmann Monarch's satisfy -- older tubos if you can find them.
smk819 Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I got a box of HDM Churchills at Lisa's recomendation. I have had one which I found rather mild, but tasty.
Laxman Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Rob as always hit it dead on. Sir Winnes, Esplendidos, Boli CG, Punch, HDM. 08 Esplendidos have been amazing but pricey. If you like Churchills and have not tried the Sir Winstons you are missing out.
khomeinist Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I also like the Quai D'Orsay Imperiales and LGC Tainos. Edit.... Of course Esplendidos, BCG, Sir Winston, etc are wonderful when spot on....but give Quai D'Orsay and LGC a shot (HQ singles or something). I would hate to see these two marcas bite the dust (they appear to be on life support).
ksblazer Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 My top 3 Churchill's are: H. Upmann Sir Winston Punch Churchills Bolivar Corona Gigantes
Habanakane21 Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I love me some H. Upmann Sir Winston & Bolivar Corona Gigantes. The Bolivars are not terrible expensive either. So that's a goo thing!!
mm12 Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I'm a big fan of H. Upmann Sir Winston, Bolivar Corona Gigantes, and Ramon Allones Estupendos.
OZCUBAN Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 My top 3 Churchill's are:H. Upmann Sir Winston Punch Churchills Bolivar Corona Gigantes DITO
Wicky Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 I'm thinking Winnys and Punch. I've yet to try either. Thanks youse guys!
thechenman Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 My current favorite Churchills in order would be... 1. Cohiba Esplendidos 2. H. Upmann Sir Winston 3. Romeo y Julieta Churchill
Mr.T Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I would second the H.Upmann Monarch Tubos.....I've got some from 07 from the Czar and they are awesome..and these are on the chopping block so pick some up

rock Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Does anyone have any experience with the saint louis rey churchill and how was it?
Habanakane21 Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 When I do..... I choose....Bolivar Corona Gigantes.....Stay thirsty my friends.
Wicky Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 When I do..... I choose....Bolivar Corona Gigantes.....Stay thirsty my friends. Box of BCGs on the way! Iv'e had one box of these and they were outstanding! Looking forward to another box. I also went with Sir Winnies and LGC Tainos. Both of which are new to me. Lisa tempted me with a 50 cab of Punch but I didnt pull the trigger. Maybe next time I won't be as strong!
skindiver Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Sir Winnes, Sir Winnes, Sir Winnes I've never had a Sir Winston, but I have a box from '03 that keeps calling my name from deep within the depths of my humidor. Soon, very soon, I'm thinking. That said, I'm a huge fan of the Bolivar corona gigante, perhaps my favorite of all Habanos. Used to be the R&J Churchill up until about 1998, maybe they'll come back again. I'm hoping. After 1998, I smoked alot of the Punch Churchills, but then drifted to the BCG's. Overall choice would still be the BCG's. Well, unless I get knocked out by those Sir Winnies in the humidor!
