Colt45 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Singles, no codes Construction: Excellent - firm and even Wrapper: Very nice deep tan/light brown with a great sheen. Smooth with one large vein. Draw: I used a punch on this one - great draw with excellent smoke volume. Taste: This one was mainly straight forward tobacco/dried nuts, but in a very good way. Not deep earthy tobacco, but a nice medium body with nice balance. The flavors were somewhat muted, but I can tell with time, this will be a winner. For now it 88, but I fully expect that to go up when revisited later. **In my relatively short time smoking Havanas, I've smoked only recent production. Even though most have shown somewhat muted flavor due to youth, almost all show great potential. One of the things I've found is that just about all have shown great body - not necessarily strength or power, but to put it in musical terms, a nice full chord versus a single thin note. No acrid thinness or single layer flavor without depth. Fullness of body even thogh the flavors have not always been fully developed. For me , this has been the single most glaring differencee between Havanas and many (though not all) Ncs. I'm looking forward to trying many of these again once they've had time to develop.
Ben Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 From memory there's a thread on this stick in the review forum.
1f1fan Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I love these cigars. An 02 I smoked late last year was outstanding...too bad I obtained it from a box split.....it was one of my top 3! Hopefully the two boxes of 03's I have will be just as good next summer.
josie67 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Great review! These are in my top 2 favorite robustos, along with the RASS.
Loki Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Nice review. I also like the RC. I like the box press look of this stick. One of my favs.
