confirmed, I've been smoking in Bryant Park when it's nice out for 4 years now. Ill let you know if anything changes this spring.

You can definitely smoke in public open outdoor spaces in NYC. I sometimes even enjoy a cigar while out for a walk...though don't be surprised to see unwelcome stares or comments directed at you when you are standing in a crowd waiting for a stoplight to change.

Cant smoke outdoors within the gates at the WTC construction site! Unbelievable!!! Ya know because us construction workers are dumb as **** and we start fires with our smokes..... Liberal **** state...

It's currently not against the law but the mayor is trying to ban smoking in all NYB public parks and beaches.

A truly sad state of affairs...especially since NYC is still one of the more smoke friendly major metropolitan cities in the U.S.
