Stalebread Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Its not long enough to learn everything I wanna learn. Bingo!
Stalebread Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Life is not long enough to: Taste all the different wines I'd like to taste. Or rums. Or cigars. Or see all the art I'd like to see. Or make all the art I'd like to try to make. Or listen to all the music. Or have all the great conversations. Or . . . Damned hedonist. Or to understand all the references in Umberto Eco's The Infinity of Lists.
JasonInChiTown Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 To visit every nook and cranny of the planet. I love traveling, experiencing new cultures and eating/drinking the local fare.
Mr Peales Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Spending time with my two girls is the best. Agreed, everything that I have experienced in my 50 years—as an adventurer—has now been superseded by my two year old daughter. Never saw myself as a family guy, go figure. -P
PigFish Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 The way I like to think about it is:Anything lost can be found again, except for time wasted. ...amen!
Stalebread Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Some 30 years ago a friend said something to me I often recall. He was always busy. He had a regular job – foreman in a large sheet metal fabrication shop. He was very active in his church, spent an admirable about of time with his wife and two daughters, worked in the garden, and always had time to stop and just chat. One day he was talking about playing golf, something like he’d played golf twice last week. I said, “Jeez, Jim, where do you find time to play golf?” He replied, “I don’t. I make time.”
Buch0 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Or have all the great conversations. Or to understand all the references in Umberto Eco's The Infinity of Lists. I like that one to be honest.. There is nothing like a great conversation that makes you loose all sense of time and forgot you surroundings. Great point
El Presidente Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Life is not long enough to read Ken's cut and paste posts
thechenman Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Life isn't anywhere near long enough for all of us to do everything we want...that is a given, but it isn't really about quantity, it's about quality. It is up to us to make the most of everyday.
