Where do custom rollers in Cuba get their tobacco from? Is it the same fillers and wrappers used in the factories?? Or do they get whatever the factories won't use?

Good question. I would love to know the answer to this myself.

I think they're got steal tobacco from fabrics :doghouse::ph34r::drool:

Custom rollers work in the Divans. The Divans purchase/allocated tobacco from Tabacuba. Some of the custom rollers have an influence in what they work with. The quality is generally very high.

And DAMNED if they're not fantastic. I have custom rolled cigars from Taboada, Juan Escobar, Virginia Cansino, Rodolfo Beltran, and Norma Fernandez, and EVERY single cigar I have had from all of them have been outstanding. VERY full bodied and complex, and the construction is second to none. So yes, the tobacco quality they get must be very high based on what I have smoked.

Does Johnny-O fit in this category? What tobacco does he use? Is there a typical flavor profile he is known for?

Got a bunch of custom rolls when I was in Cuba in November. All have them have been fantastic. It is a horse race between hamlet custom rolls and reynaldo. The quality of tobacco and the construction have been excellent.

If I were to pick, the Hamlet custom rolls are ever so slightly better.
