  1. I know there are more than a few decent photographers on the site, so I thought it might be fun to start a photography thread. I've recently got back into it after a long layoff - 20 years! - and, boy, how things have changed! Digital is whole new world for me. So, whether you're a seasoned professional, or just a keen amateur, let's see your creations. Not just cigars - whatever takes your fancy. Whether you've got all the latest digital gear, or nothing but a camera phone or a disposable camera, post away! I'll get the ball rolling. This first one is a photo from a few months ago of a Sancho Panza Corona Gigante from November 99, taken in my local pub. Nikon D750, Nikkor 24-120mm f4.0 lens at 120mm, 1/500s at f9.0, ISO 200:- This is the old Skansens Fire Station, in Bergen, where I'm currently working. Taken earlier today, with the same camera and lens. 28mm, 1/80s at f9.0, ISO 100:- And the last is the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, taken on my old iPhone about 5 years ago, and messed about with using an app. Oggl, I think, but I can't remember:- Whatever your ability and equipment, I look forward to seeing your images. Happy snapping! All the best, Iain
  2. My name is Paul Vato and I am an actor and owner of Vato Cigars, located inside Binion's Casino in classic downtown Las Vegas on Fremont St. I was doing some research on going back to Cuba and one of your members directed me to this site. My wife, fellow actor and business partner, Sarah Vato, and I will be in La Habana February 27 - March 9, 2017, that's right, in two days! I'm looking forward to meeting any of you that might be around for El Festival del Habano. I've been in the cigar business in one way or another since 1993 so if you ever have any questions please feel free to ask. If you plan on visiting Las Vegas and need any information I am available to answer any of your questions about our casinos, restaurants and where to smoke, etc. The same goes for L.A. / Hollywood, my wife, like me, is from Chicago but she grew up in L.A. We currently split our time between Vegas and L.A. Please feel free to IMDB us to see our acting body work, http://bit.ly/PaulVato and http://bit.ly/SarahVato. Here is a funny video of me that you may already be familiar with, http://bit.ly/PaulVatoCopier. Most recently I had a very small part in the movie The Trust starring Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood. Well, that's about it for me, I look forward to contributing to this wonderful forum and hope to one day get to meet you all!
