Any bass players in the house?
Squali replied to Ginseng's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
Thanks ! I think I paid 175 for it in the late 70's . Still in original case . I think it's considered vintage since its a 1968 model . You're playing for The Lord ? That's tight !! Good for you !!- 26 replies

Any bass players in the house?
Squali replied to Ginseng's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
I'm a huge fan of the bass guitar ! I always wanted to play but never had the patience to get it done . I do own a 1968 Gibson EB3 that I picked up around 1978 or 79 . It was owned by a local guy that used to play in a high school band back in the day . He traded it in and I snatched it up . It's in great shape because its hasn't been used since I bought it ! Had a lot of offers but I never wanted to part with it . The Fender Jazz is a great bass also . There's a long list of great bass players out there . Marcus Miller is #1 in my book !- 26 replies

Some things need to be kept sacred ! But it would be cool to see the inventory !

That's a good question PackPride . I was wondering the same thing myself . I keep hearing about the 2008 D4's . I read a post where someone said he recently purchased a box from czar . I tried asking a question about the the process but didn't get any follow up . I thought maybe it was a well kept secret . Got a few boxes myself that I'm going to sit on also . It's gonna be tough . They look so good !

Chocolate note CCs?
Squali replied to mjj100025552775's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
I'm definitely taking notes on this topic . I picked up a VR Famosos while on vacation . The salesmen recommended that i try something different .He said it had hints of coffee and chocolate . I haven't tried it yet , but after reading some of these posts , I can't wait . Waiting on some Monte 4's . Hopefully , they'll be spot on ! How have the VR Famosos been ? I've tried looking for reviews, but haven't seen to much out there . I was hoping to see some in the the warehouse inventory . -

What's a nice butane torch lighter ?
Squali replied to Squali's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
Thanks for the feedback guys . I'll probably go by WalMart tomorrow and pick up something for the short term . The S T DuPont seems to be getting a lot of votes from the majority . I like what I've seen so far . How about pros and cons --- mini jet vs maxi jet ? -
I'm looking for a small , stylish ,reliable torch lighter . I've had 3 , Little Buddies , and none of them has held up . I like the size of them but haven't had any luck with them . Can't remember where I got them , but they were good about replacing them . Somewhere on Amazon I think . Any suggestions ?

Cohiba Atmosphere Lounge in Cancun
Squali replied to edameff's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
My son got married at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa Resort in Riviera Maya in April of this year . This is a beautiful ,all inclusive resort targeted for adults in my opinion . We had a crew of about 60 people and had a great time ! Of course , we never left the resort . There was no need to . I too had heard the recent horror stories about Mexico and saw stories on the news . I think for the most part a lot the drug problems you hear and read about happen around the border . Someone had told me that you see police officers carrying guns in the airport . We never saw any of that , and believe me I was on full alert . We had a resort bus that took us to the resort and back to the airport . We had such a good time that the group wants to go back next year . The only problem is there's not a lot for children to do . We took our granddaughter to Atlantis 2 weeks ago . That too is a great place ! Especially for the kids . I' ve been there 4 times . That being said , there's places in Nassau I'm not going when the sun goes down . Heck there's places in the most cities in the US where you better watch your back ! As far as TJ is concerned , that's a no brainier ! I was in San Diego in 1974 , just out of high school . I had a cousin who was in the navy and lived off base there . He told me all about the police stopping you there and acting like they were going to take you to jail . All they wanted was your money . The answer to the problem ..... stay the hell out of TJ ! There's nothing there anyway. I guess what I'm saying is , I'm not going off on an adventure in a foreign country ! Rob me once , shame on you . Rob me 3 times , shame on me . Travel smart people ! -
A Few Photos Of The Havana Humidor At Atlantis
Squali replied to Squali's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
When I asked about taking a few pictures , they said it wasn't a problem but they didn't allow photos to be taken inside the humidor . They didn't want certain competition over seas to see they're inventory up close and personal . -
Sweet !! I know the feeling . It's like being a kid , waiting on Christmas !

What's up FOH ? ! Finally made my way back to reality from Paradise . We had a great time ! As always , the resort was absolutely beautiful ! Someone posted it was starting to get run down . I didn't see any signs of that . The staff was friendly as usual . First thing every morning and evening , the workers are on top of they're game ,keeping the grounds cleaned up . We did have a mix up on our room assignment . We paid for a room with a full ocean view . They tried to give us a private villa with no view at ground level . Long story short , we wound up with a two room , two bath , full ocean view suite at no extra cost and a few extra comps for good measure . Way to go Atlantis ! If you have children , they while absolutely love this place ! There's enough to keep them busy morning ,noon and night . We took my 8 year old granddaughter and 11 yr old nephew . They had a blast ! Now for the goods ! I hadn't been on the beach 5 minutes and a group of guys where trying to sell me cuban cigars . I just smiled and keep walking and held up a stick I had with me . I guess you can't blame a guy for trying . Of course, I found the the Havana Humidor with no problem . I've never seen that kind of inventory before , so I was impressed . Yes , the cigars are over priced , but so is everything else on Paradise Island . I can't imagine anyone going in that shop and not dropping some cheese on something . I couldn't do it . I didn't break the bank , but I bought a few sticks home with me with no problems . If your on vacation you might as well enjoy yourself . Oh yeah , they also had a guy there , that was rolling fresh cigars . That was interesting to watch up close . I wish I had asked more questions about the process .. Also the staff was friendly as hell . They would take you inside the humidor and you could pick out your own stick or they would go through and feel them until they found one that was just right for you . Thanks to Adrian and the sexy LaShawn for your help and answering all my questions . Needless to say , I hung out at the HH a few evening after the family called it a night . Anyway , I can't wait to go back to Atlantis ! I'll post a few photos soon

Thanks everyone for the feed back . I intend to take a few sticks with me but , I also want to take a look around and see what's out there . I haven't been since 2008 and I wasn't into cigars then. I can remember guys walking a round the beach trying to sell " Cuban" cigars . I knew better then and certainly know better now . Also , everything that I've read on the Internet about Havana Humidor has been positive also . I guess like everything else , you have to take the good with the bad . I'm definitely gonna stop in and take a look . As far the resort being run down , it was absolutely beautiful the last I was there . The white sand is manicured every morning and the ocean is gin clear next to the beach . The workers are friendly and respectful . My wife has been going there even before Atlantis was built . She liked it better then . It was more laid back and more tropical . The last time she was there was 2011 and she loved it . We are taking our 8 yr old granddaughter , and I hope she has the time of her life . As for me , I'm going to enjoy myself watching her , and kick back with several good smokes .... Cheers !!

I'm going to Paradise Island next week. Was wondering if anyone had any info on reputable cigar shops ? I read that the Havana Humidor at the Atlantis Resort is a really good spot . I can only imagine the prices there. This is my 4th trip and everything is over priced . Also there's a nice Restaurant called the Poop Deck , that gets over looked across the bridge in Nassau , that might have some . Anybody got a heads up ? I know , take your own !
