  1. I'm here in Connecticut. Looks like things are going to get a little flavorful! They always exaggerate these things though - it's a conspiracy of the Break/Milk/Water/Batteries cartel to scare old ladies. I've got a robust stock of Havana cigars to keep me company while I sit in my basement to make sure it doesn't flood.
  2. I see a growing opportunity for Czar custom cigars in the corona and lonsdale size categories. What are there - two coronas left now??!?!?!?!?! QdS and Monte 3?
  3. Somewhat crappy overall, but reliable, safe, and not too fast. An older volvo with an oddly smelling interior would be about right.
  4. Awesome! It took me a moment to get the drift as I'm in the USA, and here "liberals" are on the left (with "labor"), while free-market advocates are called "conservatives".
  5. A tight draw can be exceptionally annoying. I haven't noticed the ash issue you point out. usually I find with a tight draw that you get a tight ash. I had a Mag 46 the other night that was very snug but so darn tasty that I was willing to put up with it. On the other hand, I only smoked it about 2/3 before giving up.
  6. I think they all have their charms. Actual maduro wrappers need to be done just right to be really tasty. I'm looking forward to the day when Havanas can be wrapped with Connecticut shade again (they grow it behind my house). I think that would make a nice and creamy light cigar.
  7. I have an old box of Upmann PCs that could be used as shrapnel. You could have an aneurism trying to get smoke out of these things.
  8. I have a box of Punch Punch that have absolutely no flavor or strength. I'm talking Macanudo level flavor profile (and yes, they're from a reputable source). I save them for the occasional smoker who comes by and would probably turn green if they had a full bodied Havana.
  9. We just have to look forward to the day when the blessed hand of capitalism creates dozens of niche cigar companies in Cuba that can offer high quality products at low production volumes to satisfy the taste of the real Habanos fans.
  10. Actually I was thinking about a creamy taste that cigars like the HdM DC have. It's not exactly like cream, but more like a sweet richness that could be called "creamy". Darn hard to put your finger on some of these things! I think creamy mouthfeel is sort of separate; I'm smoking a custom rolled cigar right now that has a very creamy smoke, but the flavors are more rich dried fruit than the sweet cream I see in the HdM.
  11. HdM DCs are pretty damn creamy.
  12. I've found that some of the REs and LEs can taste like the best Nicaraguan puros. Something about the darker wrapper adds an earthy flavor that I find similar to Nicaraguan tobacco. I really like Illusiones, Olivas, and Padrons, but I would never mistake one for a Cuban.
  13. Don't tempt me! It's primarily a retirement issue. Sadly, with the tax situation in my State I think a lot of people get the majority of their cigars online. Not to mention the folks that mostly smoke Cubans!
